the who, the what, the when, the where….

Hello World!

This is a blog brought to you by two friends, thousands of miles apart.

We share lots of interests and despite me moving around the country have remained good friends and are always bouncing ideas and new craft projects off each other.  We hope that by writing about what we do we can inspire others and ourselves to do even more–living simply and creating simple things to spread happiness.

A little bit about me:

I am a native Iowan, living in Arizona working for ‘the man’.  I am the ‘slacker’ of the duo, I will admit it wholeheartedly.  I have a crazy and wild imagination that I think could produce some amazing things—if I could just get it together enough to finish a project!  I am convinced that I can do it…and if I can….anyone can!

I hope to share my love of the simple farm life–growing things, eating things that I grow,  learning new things about farm animals (I have a goal to learn how to shear sheep)!   I absolutely love working with fibers–be it knitting or felting or just going into a yarn shop and drooling.  I would love to learn the art of Rosemaling and incorporate it into fiber art.

So those are just some of the things you may find me writing about here.  I am sentimental and quirky and totally random— I hope you enjoy browsing!

I will let my friend introduce herself here as well–if she wants to.

This is the other half of the duo speaking now….She did so well on the intro that I don’t have much more to add…

I guess I would be considered the highly motivated one with a rich sense of adventure.   I’m a farmer (born and raised), landscaper (own my own business), athlete, and moonlight as a floral designer and freelance journalist.  I’ve always got my hands full with one of my many hobbies.

I plan on sharing stories about farm life, the business, my hobbies, my Scandinavian heritage and some of the many lessons I’ve learned on the journey of life.    Enjoy and thanks for reading!
