It’s the first part of August and the weather is beautiful here in Minnesota. A little dry perhaps, and sometimes a little hot in the afternoon but the evenings are cool and smell of Fall.
We had our first Fall calf today. A stocky black white face. The first of fifteen, courtesy of my lovely bovine neighbors.

My dad finished combining succotash (oats, wheat and barley) and rolling straw last week.
I really wanted to drive the combine but he was done before I got home from work. Maybe next year.
